Gardens are spaces for dialogue between nature and culture. Laboratories where human desires creatively intertwine with the potential of plants, which include the capacity to stimulate the senses and reason, but also to regulate the environment around us.
For this reason, in a context of climatic and ecological imbalance such as the current one, it is vitally important to revive interest in these spaces of conciliation between the natural and the artificial. A challenge which, in our opinion, should not only involve the generation of scientific certainties but also the creation of new shared narratives that allow a renewed and integrating sensibility to emerge.
With this aspiration in mind, this atlas of the gardens of Puerto de la Cruz has been created to show and explore the different dimensions of these spaces. An open work that also invites citizens and travellers to collaborate by mapping new specimens in a playful and entertaining way.
